BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS PUBLIC HEARING - Oct. 26

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING COLUMBIA TOWNSHIP BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS MONDAY, OCTOBER 26, 2026

The Columbia Township Board of Zoning Appeals will meet on Monday, October 26, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. to hear one case. The public hearing will be at the Columbia Town Hall, 25496 Royalton Road, Columbia Station, Ohio 44028.

Case 2026-13: Jeff Leonard, 27003 Sprague Road, Columbia Station, OH 44028 requested a zoning permit to construct a new home on the property. The Permanent Parcel Number for the property is 12-00-081-000-029. There is an existing home on the property. A variance would be required to keep the existing home up longer than 90 days after completion of the new home.

The Columbia Township Zoning Resolution, Section 9.03, Temporary Structures permits a structure to stay up during construction, but it must be removed upon completion of the project. A 90-day time limit is typically allowed by the Zoning Inspector. Also under Section 4.05, rear houses are prohibited on a single lot. The applicant has not provided a time limit for removal of the existing home.

The application will be available for review in the Columbia Township Zoning Office from Monday, October 19, 2026, through Monday, October 26, 2026.
